Hugo’s journey is a dark coming-of-age story. His introduction to sexuality is not innocent or gradual; it is thrust upon him in an environment where human bodies are commodities traded for political leverage.

As Xuxa’s career skyrocketed, transforming her into Brazil’s most beloved children’s television host known worldwide as the "Queen of the Little Ones" ( Rainha dos Baixinhos ), her past participation in an erotic film became a massive liability. Rumors spread that the film was a pornographic movie that could ruin her wholesome image.

The narrative shifts back to 1937 São Paulo. A 12-year-old Hugo (played by Marcelo Ribeiro) is abruptly evicted by his grandmother and sent to live with his estranged mother, Anna (Vera Fischer). Hugo quickly discovers that the grand residence is a luxurious, high-class brothel catering exclusively to wealthy politicians, oligarchs, and military men. Anna is the favorite mistress of Dr. Osmar (Tarcísio Meira), the state's most powerful political figure.
