The protagonist of our tale is Axel "Ace" Anderson, a former cybersecurity expert and activist who dared to challenge The Syndicate's authority. Framed for a crime he didn't commit, Ace finds himself sentenced to participate in The Running Man, a punishment masquerading as entertainment for the masses. The arena, designed to look like a futuristic, post-apocalyptic version of Los Angeles, is equipped with the latest in surveillance and combat technology, making it nearly impossible for contestants to survive.
