This asymmetrical multiplayer mode pits four players using Wii Remotes against one player controlling Bowser via the Wii U GamePad. The four players share a vehicle and attempt to reach the end of the track before Bowser catches them. The Bowser player uses the GamePad screen to execute secret traps and breath fire in chaotic, exclusive mini-games.

By tapping compatible Amiibo figures, players could unlock special themed boards and tokens, adding a physical-to-digital layer to the experience.
