Originally launched as a Wii U exclusive, LEGO CITY Undercover was later remastered and ported to the Nintendo Switch. Players step into the boots of Chase McCain, an undercover police officer tasked with hunting down the escaped criminal Rex Fury.

The first update (version 1.0.1) was a substantial 479MB download that went live almost immediately after the game's release. The exact contents of the second update (version 1.0.2) were never officially confirmed, leading to much speculation among players. The patch is often associated with adding missing Nintendo-themed content, such as the iconic Mario hat.
