| Feature | Previous Issue | 2021 Improvement | |---------|---------------|------------------| | | Default admin password risk | Force password change on first login | | Wi-Fi | Weak signal after 10+ devices | Adjusted TX power and roaming thresholds | | Management | Slow web UI | Faster interface (no more lag on status page) | | IPv6 | Partial support | Full IPv6 (DHCPv6, PPPoE v6) | | Parental Controls | Basic MAC filtering | Schedule-based internet access | | DoS Protection | Absent | Basic flood attack filtering |
This is arguably the most critical step. Tenda has released multiple hardware revisions of the F3, including v3.0, v4.0, v5.0, and v6.0. Each version requires its own specific firmware file. Using the wrong file will result in an error message or could damage the router. You can find your hardware version printed on a sticker on the bottom or back of the router. For example, the hardware version is often marked as "Ver:V6.0". The software version can be found in the router's web interface after you log in. firmware upgrade tenda f3 2021
