The film's story follows two identical twin brothers, Vishwanathan and Ramamoorthy (both played by Prashanth), who fall in love with the same woman, Madhumitha (Aishwarya Rai). The brothers' father, Rajamani (Nassar), is a wealthy businessman who is determined to have his sons marry identical twin sisters. Madhumitha, however, is not a twin. To win Rajamani's approval, Madhumitha and her grandmother (Lakshmi) concoct a plan to pretend that Madhumitha has a twin sister named Vaishnavi.
