Facing political pressure, the university initially canceled the event. However, students, with support from the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, organized their own private “teach-in.” They screened only 30 minutes of the film, preceded by a panel discussion on First Amendment rights. Over 200 students and faculty attended, framing the event as an educational exercise in civil liberties.
